On this page
The Girardi ES9 is Jason Duval’s pistol in GTA 6. Rockstar named it in June 2026 in its Ultimate Edition copy, which adds a personalized, engraved ES9 for Jason and an engraved Klose K17 for Lucia.
What Rockstar has said
Only two things: the name, and that it belongs to Jason. The Ultimate Edition item reads, in short, as personalized sidearms with detailed engravings for Jason’s Girardi ES9 and Lucia’s Klose K17. Everything else on this page comes from official images and from press and fan reading of them.
Where it appears
PC Gamer says Jason has carried the ES9 multiple times in the trailers and screenshots. These are the main sightings. Rockstar has not labeled the gun in any of them; the identification is by fan wikis or our own reading:
| Where | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Trailer 2 | Jason firing a pistol from a vehicle (GTA Wiki) |
| Official screenshot | Jason on a green Alvino sport bike, pistol in hand (GTA Wiki) |
| Official screenshot | Jason beside a marina seaplane at dusk, the image at the top of this page (our reading) |
| Vintage Vice City Pack image | The pack’s tropical weapon pattern shown on the ES9 (GTA Wiki) |
In the seaplane shot, the pistol’s long slide and overall outline match the Beretta 92 family. That is our reading of the image. The tropical pattern is part of the pre-order bonus and copies Tommy Vercetti’s palm tree shirt.
The engraved Ultimate Edition version
The personalized ES9 comes with the Ultimate Edition ($99.99) or the $20 upgrade on a Standard copy; see how to upgrade. Like every Ultimate item, it unlocks as the story goes on. Rockstar calls it personalized with detailed engravings and has not said whether it performs any differently from a standard ES9. The GTA Wiki says the engraved gun looks closer to the Beretta M9A4 and reads the Latin motto “sua sponte” on its grip panels. That is the motto of the US Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, a fitting touch for a character whose official bio includes a stint in the Army (fan reading). The rest of the list is on the Ultimate Edition items checklist.
Earlier GTA games
Girardi is a new maker as far as fan wikis record. HD-era GTA games sold handguns under plain names such as Pistol, Combat Pistol and Pistol .50. GTA 6 gives weapons brand and model names instead, closer to how Red Dead Redemption 2 named its guns. The other handguns Rockstar’s edition copy names are Lucia’s Klose K17 and the Hawk & Little Morgan revolver.
Real-world basis
Rockstar does not name the real guns behind its designs. PC Gamer and GTABase both identify the ES9 as the Beretta 92FS. The Italian-sounding Girardi name fits Beretta’s Italian roots, which is our observation.
What is not known yet
- Damage, fire rate, magazine size and attachments.
- Where standard ES9s are sold or found.
- Whether Lucia can carry it.
- Whether the engraved version has any stat changes.
Every named gun is on the GTA 6 weapons list.
