The six regions
Vice City
"Everything in Excess." Vice City is GTA 6's modern Miami and its main city, about twice the size of Los Santos.
Leonida Keys
"Gateway to Paradise." The Leonida Keys are GTA 6's Florida Keys and the reported starting area: Jason's stilt house, Brian's boat yard, reefs, jet skis and The Rusty Anchor.
Grassrivers
"Welcome to the Wetlands." Grassrivers is GTA 6's Everglades: airboats, gator hunting and swamp chases on Vice City's doorstep.
Port Gellhorn
"Live Hard." Port Gellhorn is GTA 6's run-down Panhandle beach town: cheap motels, the Delights cabaret, dirt bikes and a painkiller economy.
Ambrosia
"Keeping Leonida Sweet." Ambrosia is GTA 6's sugar country in the heart of Leonida: the Allied Crystal refinery, Final Chapter MC bikers, a raceway, mud-bogging and Lake Leonida.
Mount Kalaga National Park
"Wild, Wild Country." Mount Kalaga National Park is GTA 6's northern wilderness: canyon roads, hunting, fishing, dirt-bike trails, cougars and deer, and backwoods radicals.

Has the GTA 6 map been released?
As of September 26, 2026, Rockstar has not published a full map of Leonida, but one is coming on paper. The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection, Rockstar's $399.99 Collector's Box, includes a double-sided souvenir poster, and Rockstar says its back has "a full view of the Leonida map". official The box ships from November 19, 2026, launch day. It is limited to one per person on the Rockstar Store, and the game is not included. official
For now only a corner is visible. Rockstar's store photo shows the poster's front with a cropped strip of the map side behind it: islands, cartoon art and the words "Leonida" and "The Goodtime State," the state's nickname, with no readable place names. official Dexerto and Notebookcheck reported that the first version of the photo showed place labels, which Rockstar then edited out without comment. reported Rockstar withdrew those names, so we do not repeat them here or host that image.
The poster is illustrated art, so expect a souvenir map rather than a scale map (our reading). When boxes reach buyers on November 19, we will describe the full poster here. Everything else in the box is on the GTA 6 Collector's Box page, and the announcement is in our news post.

How big is the map?
Two ratios exist and no square-mile figure. On August 27, 2026, the day the Extended Look premiered, the New York Times reported that Rockstar described the overall map as three times the playable area of Red Dead Redemption 2. The same day, Rob Nelson told the creator TGG that it is roughly twice GTA 5's map and that Vice City alone is about twice Los Santos. Both come from interviews, so we tag them reported. reported
Everything beyond that, including the popular "2.5x GTA 5" figure, is fan measurement from trailer frames. The map size page lists every estimate and where it came from.

Rockstar has never published a county map, so which regions sit in which county is community mapping. The counties page has the detail and sources for each one, and GTA 6 vs real life lists the real counties fans match them to, from Miami-Dade to Monroe.
Gloriana. The neighboring state is Gloriana, a name fans and outlets read on license plates in official footage reported. Fans take it to be the game's Georgia, beyond Mount Kalaga's northern border. Nothing suggests it is playable, and Rockstar has not described it. Do not confuse it with Gloriana Key, an island name that comes only from leaked material.
The real Florida behind Leonida
Rockstar never names a real place, but the matches are close. Vice-Dale plays on Miami-Dade, Little Cuba on Little Havana, Shore Drive on Ocean Drive, Grassrivers on the Everglades' old nickname, the River of Grass, and Allied Crystal on U.S. Sugar in Clewiston. Miami answered back on September 22, 2026, when a "Welcome to Vice City" sign went up on the real Kaseya Center (reported; Rockstar has not commented). Every building-level match is on real-life locations.
Getting around Leonida
Recaps report that quick trips run through public transport and the Ryde Me ride-hailing app, and no map-menu teleport has been shown (reported). The Extended Look shows the Ryde Me app on the phone, and Vice's preview roundup lists buses, trains, trams, taxis and Ryde Me as fast-travel options. Community wikis describe a Vice City Metro with a downtown people mover. Airboats handle the wetlands and boats and jet skis connect the Keys. Helicopters, a blimp and airliners appear as part of the world, but no player-flown aircraft has been shown. See how to fast travel and the vehicle list.
You uncover the map by travelling it. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that new areas are filled in on the map when you unlock them, and that, as in GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, unexplored parts stay hidden until you visit them. reported Which regions start locked, and which chapter opens them, has not been said.
Interiors and enterable buildings
Asked for a number, Nelson said the count of enterable buildings is "enormous" and left it there. Previews described enterable buildings marked blue on the map and sealed ones grey, with a building's floor plan drawing itself in 3D on the minimap as you approach. Across the trailers, screenshots and the Extended Look, Rockstar has shown the inside of convenience stores, bars, Hank's Waffles, the Jack of Hearts, motels, Jason and Lucia's apartment, the Venture Apartments, an arcade, a gym, the airport terminal and Megamundo HQ. Claims of "700 interiors" or "70 percent enterable" are not from Rockstar. reported
About leaked maps
A stitched "full map" circulated in August 2026, taken from a development build of unknown age, and a community Mapping Project has been assembling its own map from official footage since December 2023. We describe both, we host neither, and we do not treat leaked geography as fact, because layouts change between builds. Our leaks page explains the policy. When the full Collector's Box poster reaches buyers, or Rockstar publishes a full map, we will describe it on this page first, and host it only if Rockstar releases it as a press image.

The pair's hideouts change as the chapter-based story moves across the state, but Rockstar has not said which regions are locked or for how long.
Has Rockstar released an official GTA 6 map?
Not in full. Rockstar has published region names, descriptions and screenshots, and its store photo of the $399.99 Collector's Box poster shows a cropped corner of a Leonida map. The full map is on the back of that poster, which ships November 19, 2026. Every full map online today is fan-made from official footage or built on leaked material, and we do not host leaked maps. Is Vice City the only city in GTA 6?
It is the only big city. Port Gellhorn is a run-down beach town, Ambrosia is a sugar town, Watson Bay is named in Ultimate Edition copy, and Capri and Waning Sands appear on highway signs. Rockstar has not described Capri or Waning Sands.
What are the counties in GTA 6?
Vice-Dale, Leonard and Ambrosia counties appear on police vehicles and signage in official material. Kelly and Mariana counties are read from highway signs in the trailers by community wikis, so we tag them reported. Lummox County comes only from leaked material. Rockstar has not published a county map.
What changed on this page
- Added a section on whether the map has been released, covering the Collector's Box map poster: Rockstar says its back has a full view of the Leonida map, it ships November 19, and so far only a cropped corner is visible. The map FAQ and the at-a-glance box now say no full map has been published, rather than no map at all, and note Leonida's nickname, The Goodtime State.
- Named places by region now lists Mount Kalaga with a note that it has no named places yet, and the transit section no longer says the Extended Look shows bus stops on the minimap, which no source we could find supports.
- Added a clickable schematic map, links to every named place, counties and real-life matches, retagged the map-size ratios as reported (they come from interviews), and put Kelly and Mariana counties on the same footing. Later the same day we pinned each county to the sign it comes from, added a note on Gloriana, credited transit details to previews rather than Rob Nelson, stopped dating the leaked map to 2023, added Rob Nelson's lines on how unlocked and unexplored areas appear on the map, and credited the transit list to Vice's preview roundup.
