Why there are no cheats yet
Cheat codes come out after a game ships, when players find them or guides publish the list. GTA 6 is not out until November 19, 2026, and nothing official (the trailers, the 26-minute Extended Look, the store listings) has mentioned or shown a cheat. Sites listing "GTA 6 cheat codes" today are recycling GTA 5 codes under a new name to catch searches. Treat them as fiction.
How cheats worked in Rockstar's last two games
| Game | How you entered cheats | Examples | What it cost you |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA V (2013) | Controller button sequences, or phone numbers dialed on the in-game phone | Invincibility, weapons, spawn vehicles, raise or lower the wanted level, slow-motion aiming, moon gravity | Trophies and achievements disabled; missions capped at a Bronze medal. Save first and reload to get back to normal. |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) | Phrases typed into the Cheats menu under Settings; some unlock only after you buy certain in-game newspapers (New Hanover Gazette, Saint Denis Times, Blackwater Ledger) | "Greed is now a virtue" ($500 per use), infinite ammo, infinite stamina, Dead Eye levels, spawn horses and wagons, clear bounties | No saving and no trophies or achievements while cheats are active |
Money cheats: the one exception
GTA V never had a money cheat; you earned cash through missions, heists and the stock market. Red Dead Redemption 2 did have one, and it was small: "Greed is now a virtue" adds $500 every time you enter it. Saving and trophies stay off while it is active, which makes it a toy rather than a shortcut.
Whether GTA 6 has anything like it is unknown. Previews describe three kinds of money (bank balance, cash on hand and stolen goods you sell to a fence), covered on how money works in GTA 6. Until Rockstar or the game itself says otherwise, a "GTA 6 infinite money code" is fake.
What to expect in GTA 6
Our reading of the precedent, not an announcement: if GTA 6 has cheats, using them will most likely lock out trophies and achievements for that session, as in GTA V and RDR2, and possibly saving as well. The phone is a plausible way to enter them, given GTA V used phone numbers and GTA 6 runs so much through its phone apps. Trophy hunters should keep a clean save; the GTA 6 trophies page will carry the full list once Sony and Microsoft publish it.
How to spot a fake
- Any list dated before launch. No real code can exist yet.
- Downloads. No PC version has been announced and retail PS5 and Xbox consoles cannot run mod menus. A "GTA 6 cheat tool", "trainer" or "early access build" is fake; do not install it or type your account details into it. Our GTA 6 rumor tracker logs the hoaxes that keep coming back.
- GTA 5 codes with new names. If a "GTA 6" list uses the exact button strings from GTA 5, it was copied, not discovered.
- Big money promises. GTA V had no money code and RDR2's only one paid $500 at a time. A code promising millions is invented.
Rockstar's September 2026 mod guidelines also bar paid mods outside its Creator Platform, so anyone charging for a GTA 6 "mod menu" is breaking Rockstar's rules as well as lying. More on GTA 6 mods.
What this page becomes on launch day
On November 19 we test every reported code on PS5 and Xbox before listing it, note what each one disables, and mark anything unverified. Until then, the useful pages explain systems you will actually use: the six-star wanted level, how to lose the police without a cheat, and how to make money the way the game intends. Quick answers to everything else are in the GTA 6 FAQ.

Frequently asked questions
Are there GTA 6 cheat codes?
None are known. The game is not out until November 19, 2026, Rockstar has said nothing about cheats, and no official footage has shown one. Any list of GTA 6 cheat codes published before launch is invented.
Is there a GTA 6 money cheat?
Unknown. GTA V had no money cheat. Red Dead Redemption 2 had a small one, "Greed is now a virtue", which adds $500 each time you enter it. Whether GTA 6 follows either game has not been announced.
Did GTA 5 have cheats?
Yes. GTA 5 used controller button sequences and phone numbers dialed on the in-game phone for invincibility, weapons, vehicles and wanted-level changes. Using one disabled trophies and achievements, and missions could not score better than Bronze.
Did Red Dead Redemption 2 have cheats?
Yes. RDR2 cheats are phrases typed into the Cheats menu in Settings, and some unlock only after reading certain in-world newspapers. While cheats are active you cannot save or earn trophies and achievements.
Will cheats disable trophies in GTA 6?
Unknown. GTA V and RDR2 both blocked trophies and achievements while cheats were active, so expect the same if GTA 6 has cheats. See GTA 6 trophies.
Is there a GTA 6 mod menu or cheat download?
No. No PC version has been announced and retail PS5 and Xbox consoles do not run mod menus, so any "GTA 6 cheat" download is fake at best. Do not install it or enter your account details.
What changed on this page
- Corrected the length of the Extended Look to 26 minutes, matching the official upload (26:48).
- Corrected the money-cheat history: Red Dead Redemption 2 had one ("Greed is now a virtue", $500 per use), and replaced two Rockstar Support links we could not verify.
