Trailer 2 link
Community wikis trace a Trailer 2 shot, at about 1:44, of Lucia dropping from a third-floor window during a raid to this building. The Trailer 2 breakdown lists a raid down a dim corridor at about 1:48, with a plain-clothes cop fans identify as Mendez. reported
Real-world inspiration
Community wikis match the towers to the Haley Sofge Towers at 750 and 800 NW 13th Avenue, in Miami’s Riverside neighborhood on the eastern edge of Little Havana. That puts the scene close to the game’s Little Cuba, though Rockstar has not drawn district lines. The area name Rockridge traces to the 2022 leak, so we treat it as rumor.
Still unknown
- Where the job sits in the story. Rob Nelson told Famitsu the game starts in the Leonida Keys, so this is not the opening mission. reported
- Whether you can go back into the building later.
- What Mendez wants with Jason and Lucia, and whether they already know him.
Frequently asked questions
What happens at the Venture Apartments in GTA 6?
In the Extended Look, Jason and Lucia go there to collect a package for Boobie Ike from Raymond's drug lab. A police task force led by Mendez raids the building, and the pair escape through a neighbor's window.
Is the Venture Apartments raid the start of GTA 6?
It is the start of the Extended Look, not of the game. Rob Nelson told Famitsu the story begins in the Leonida Keys, so this job is not where the game opens. Rockstar has not said where it falls.
Who is Mendez?
A Vice City police officer who leads the task force raid and shoots a suspect who is trying to surrender. Jason and Lucia seem to recognize him, but that is our reading: Rockstar has published no bio for him.
Are the Venture Apartments based on a real building?
Community wikis match them to the Haley Sofge Towers on NW 13th Avenue in Miami's Riverside neighborhood. Rockstar has not said so.
