The ‘95 Grotti Cheetah is an Ultimate Edition exclusive: a white mid-1990s sports car that Rockstar calls Grotti’s signature car of the era and an ode to Shore Drive. Standard Edition owners do not get it unless they buy the $20 upgrade.

How to get the ‘95 Cheetah

  1. Own the Ultimate Edition ($99.99), or add the Ultimate Edition Upgrade ($20) to a Standard copy at any time. The upgrade guide covers both stores.
  2. Play the story. Rockstar says Ultimate items are spread across Jason and Lucia’s story, with new ones behind each chapter.
  3. Expect it late. Rockstar’s copy says the Cheetah is there to punctuate later-stage action.

There is no boxed Ultimate Edition: Rockstar Support lists it as digital-only, so physical Standard owners redeem their code first and then buy the upgrade. Rockstar has not said where the Cheetah is stored or which mission hands it over. The rest of the Ultimate list is on the Ultimate Edition items checklist, and our edition comparison weighs whether the extra $20 is worth it.

What Rockstar has shown

Rockstar’s Ultimate Edition images show a white Cheetah with pop-up headlamps and a red interior. The official copy describes the livery as minimalist and retro-futuristic and calls the car an ode to Shore Drive, a Vice City street name that fans read as the game’s Ocean Drive.

Separately, PC Gamer spotted a Grotti Cheetah Classic in the car traffic of Trailer 1, recognized from its rear grille and a license plate that spells “cheetah”. Sources disagree on how the two relate. PC Gamer calls the ‘95 Cheetah a new ride that only looks like GTA Online’s Cheetah Classic, while the GTA Wiki treats them as the same car and labels the trailer shot a 1995 Cheetah. Rockstar has not said.

The Cheetah through the series

The Cheetah is one of the oldest names in GTA. These are its main appearances and the car each version was styled on, according to the GTA Wiki:

GameYearStyled on
GTA III2001Ferrari F512 M
GTA Vice City2002Ferrari Testarossa (1984–1991), without pop-up lights
GTA San Andreas2004Ferrari 512 TR
GTA Vice City Stories2006Ferrari Testarossa (1984–1991)
GTA V and GTA Online2013Ferrari Enzo, a modern hypercar
GTA Online, Cheetah Classic2017Ferrari Testarossa (Gunrunning update)
GTA 6, ‘95 Cheetah2026Ferrari Testarossa (fan identification)

Real-world basis

Rockstar does not name the real cars behind its designs. GTABase and the GTA Wiki identify the shape, side vents and pop-up lights as a Ferrari Testarossa, and PC Gamer calls it a classic Ferrari-inspired car. The ‘95 date does not match a stock Testarossa, which Ferrari built from 1984 to 1991. The white paint also recalls the white Testarossa that Sonny Crockett drove in Miami Vice, which is our observation rather than anything Rockstar has said.

What is not known yet

  • The chapter or mission that unlocks it.
  • Where it is kept, and whether it can be modified.
  • Whether Standard players can find or buy other Cheetahs in the world.
  • Performance compared with other sports cars.

Every other named car is on the GTA 6 vehicles list.
