Four days after the delay
On May 2, 2025 Rockstar pushed the game from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026. Four days later, with no teaser, Trailer 2 went up alongside a rebuilt rockstargames.com/VI. The site introduced Jason Duval by name, gave Lucia her surname, posted bios for six supporting characters and described six regions of Leonida. It was the first time Rockstar put names to almost anything. The full delay story is on the GTA 6 delays page.
Rockstar's own description sets up the plot: Jason and Lucia "have always known the deck is stacked against them," and when an easy score goes wrong they end up in a conspiracy stretching across Leonida. The GTA 6 story page collects everything official about the plot.

Most people remember one song, but Trailer 2 uses five. Rockstar credits "Hot Together" in the video description; the other four were identified from the footage by press.

Vehicles spotted
Trailer 2 is a car spotter's trailer. Community identification, which is fan analysis rather than anything Rockstar has named, picked out a Ford Raptor-style pickup for Brian, a Baller SUV burning on a lawn, a Gauntlet muscle car, a Tulip, a Tempesta, a Windsor Drop, a Banshee outside the Dominion Hotel, VCPD interceptors and a riot truck, a chopper and a Sanchez-style dirt bike. rumor The GTA 6 vehicles list has the full set with real-world counterparts.
Was it real?
Rockstar's YouTube description says the trailer "was captured entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, comprised of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes." Digital Foundry's frame analysis estimated a native resolution around 2560 by 1152, upscaled to 4K, at 30 frames per second. The Extended Look fifteen months later was also captured on PS5. There is still no announced 60 fps mode; see GTA 6 on PS5 for what Rob Nelson has said about frame rate.
The 475 million figure
Rockstar's 475 million counts views across every platform the trailer was posted on in its first 24 hours, not only YouTube, per TechRadar citing The Hollywood Reporter. It is a company figure, not an independent count, so it cannot be compared directly with Trailer 1's YouTube-only record of more than 93 million. For a like-for-like check, YouTube's counters on September 23, 2026 read about 183 million for Trailer 2 and about 296 million for Trailer 1, which had 17 more months to collect views.
