- Around November 11, 2026, by the Red Dead Redemption 2 pattern rumor
Why the question is confusing
Rockstar's official site lists three videos: Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and An Extended Look. The first two are numbered. The third is not, and it is a different kind of video: a 26-minute Netflix premiere rather than a two-minute cut. Rockstar also posted a 26-second teaser on August 6, 2026 to announce it, and that was not Trailer 3 either.
Some outlets and a lot of YouTube thumbnails call the Extended Look "Trailer 3" because it was the third big reveal. Others say Trailer 3 is still coming because Rockstar never used the name. We follow Rockstar's own labels, so on this site the Extended Look is the Extended Look and Trailer 3 does not exist yet.
What Rockstar and Take-Two have said
Rockstar has said nothing about a future trailer. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has, in his usual way. Around August 10, 2026, before the Extended Look aired, he told GamesIndustry.biz the Netflix showcase was "one of the hors d'oeuvres" and added: "There's appetizers, main course and dessert to follow." reported That promises more marketing, not a schedule. Since the Extended Look and the screenshots Rockstar published with it on August 27, 2026, the drip has continued without new video: the album announcement on September 17, then a $399.99 Collector's Box of merchandise, with no game inside, on September 24. official
The next dated look is not a video either. Game Informer says issue 382 carries a 14-page GTA VI cover story with 12 new screenshots, with the digital edition out September 29. reported Game Informer, not Rockstar, publishes it, and our Game Informer cover story post tracks what it adds.
The launch trailer precedent
Rockstar's last two big games each got a final trailer close to release:
| Game | Final trailer | Release | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | "Launch Trailer," October 18, 2018 | October 26, 2018 | 8 days |
| Grand Theft Auto V | "The Official Trailer," August 29, 2013 | September 17, 2013 | 19 days |
Apply the RDR2 gap to November 19, 2026 and you land on November 11. Apply the GTA V gap and you get October 31. Pre-load opens November 12, a natural moment for a final push. Nobody with access to Rockstar's plans has reported any of this. It is pattern-matching, and we tag it as rumor for that reason. The GTA 6 launch trailer page covers what to expect in more depth.
How to spot a fake Trailer 3
Fake trailer announcements are among the most common GTA 6 hoaxes: doctored push notifications, re-cut fan trailers with official-looking title cards, and YouTube uploads that splice leaked and official footage.
- Rockstar announces videos on its Newswire and its own social accounts first. The Extended Look was announced three weeks ahead.
- If the video is not on rockstargames.com/VI, it is not official.
- Rockstar uploads come from the Rockstar Games YouTube channel, not "GTA 6 Official" or similar names.
- A real trailer is covered within minutes by IGN, GameSpot, Kotaku and Variety. Check one of them.
Our GTA 6 rumor tracker lists the hoaxes, including the fake-trailer alerts.
If a final trailer comes
What a last pre-launch trailer might show, and the full timing argument, are on the GTA 6 launch trailer page. One practical detail it could settle is the Xbox unlock time, which Microsoft has not listed. PlayStation Store listings already show PS5 unlocking at midnight in each store region's main time zone; the GTA 6 release time page has every region.
Meanwhile
The Extended Look breakdown explains the most recent footage with timestamps, and the GTA 6 trailers hub has both numbered trailers ready to play. Any new video lands in the GTA 6 news feed first, and the GTA 6 countdown tracks launch and pre-load.

Frequently asked questions
Has GTA 6 Trailer 3 been released?
No. Rockstar has released Trailer 1 (December 4, 2023), Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025) and a 26-minute gameplay showcase called An Extended Look (August 27, 2026). It has never used the name "Trailer 3" for anything.
Was the Extended Look Trailer 3?
Not by Rockstar's naming. The official site lists it separately from the two numbered trailers. Some outlets and many YouTube thumbnails call it Trailer 3 because it was the third big video. Either way, it is the most recent official footage.
When will GTA 6 Trailer 3 come out?
Rockstar has not announced one. Red Dead Redemption 2 got its launch trailer eight days before release, which would put a GTA 6 equivalent around November 11, 2026. That is our pattern-matching, not a report.
Will there be a GTA 6 launch trailer?
Very likely, but it is not announced. Rockstar's recent big releases each had a final trailer close to launch, and before the Extended Look aired Take-Two's CEO said there were "appetizers, main course and dessert to follow."
Is the Game Informer cover story Trailer 3?
No. It is a magazine feature, not a video. Game Informer says issue 382 has a 14-page GTA VI cover story with 12 new screenshots, and its digital edition goes live on September 29, 2026.
I got a notification that Trailer 3 is out. Is it real?
Check rockstargames.com/VI or the Rockstar Games YouTube channel. If it is not there, it is fake. Doctored "Trailer 3 out now" alerts and fan-made trailers circulate every few weeks.
What changed on this page
- Checked again on September 28: still no Trailer 3 or launch trailer, and no new video on the Newswire. Corrected the Extended Look's length to 26 minutes (the official upload runs 26:48).
- Checked again: still no Trailer 3 or launch trailer. Added Game Informer's September 29 cover story, which is a magazine feature with new screenshots, not a trailer, and the Collector's Box Rockstar announced on September 24.
- Checked again: still no Trailer 3 or launch trailer. Corrected the date and wording of Strauss Zelnick's "hors d'oeuvres" quote (August 10, before the Extended Look aired), fixed the Red Dead Redemption 2 source link, noted that GTA V's final trailer was called "The Official Trailer," corrected the unlock-time note (PS5 store listings already show it), and moved the launch-trailer guesswork to its own page.
- Page created. No Trailer 3 or launch trailer announced.
