Rideout Customs is the Vice City mod shop for big-wheel builds, and you need the Ultimate Edition to use it. Rockstar’s pitch is short: take a plain car and turn it into a showpiece with a detailed interior, exquisite rims and donk styling. It is one of two mod shops Rockstar has named, both locked to the Ultimate Edition.

What Rockstar says

The item text on rockstargames.com/VI files Rideout Customs under “Mod shop” and ends with the line every Ultimate destination shares: “Only open for business with the Ultimate Edition.” A longer version of the copy, which TheSixthAxis printed from a June 24 press release, opens with “At Rideout Customs in Vice City”, and that reprint is the only source for the shop’s city (reported). Rockstar Support lists the item as the Rideout Customs Mod Shop, and the Microsoft Store upgrade listing groups it with four other “Special Destinations” that only open for Ultimate owners: Sara’s Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo and One-Eyed Willie’s. official

What the official images show

Rockstar published three images of the shop’s work.

ImageWhat you seeStatus
The buildA gold metal-flake two-door on gold rims with spade-shaped cutouts, which Rockstar’s caption calls a “hi-riser”; the hood badge reads Albanyshown
The interiorClose-up of the same car’s windshield and deep-red cabinshown
The workshopA mechanic on a creeper under a yellow two-door on jack stands, a second man with a clipboard, another car up on a liftshown

Community wikis identify the car as a Manana and read the yellow car in the workshop as the stock version before the build. Rockstar names neither. rumor

Seen before Rockstar named it

The name turned up years early. In its December 2023 breakdown of Trailer 1, VGC spotted a car carrying Rideout Customs and Vice Vinyl stickers and wondered whether they were customization shops. reported Community wikis now count three decorated vehicles in that trailer, including one with “Raised By Rideout Customs” on the rear window. rumor The Trailer 1 breakdown has every shot in order.

Why it matters in play

Vice’s preview roundup says mod shops have specialties: most sell basic upgrades, but some options are only available at particular shops. reported Our reading is that donk kits, lift and oversized rims are Rideout’s specialty, the way off-road work is One-Eyed Willie’s. Rockstar says Ultimate items are uncovered chapter by chapter through the story, and it has not said which chapter opens this one. The Ultimate Edition also includes a separate Ganado Retro Build modkit for Jason’s pickup, which Rockstar does not tie to any shop.

Your car also matters when you are wanted. Vice’s preview roundup says you can clear the vehicle evidence by switching vehicles, and that a Pay ‘n’ Spray repairs the car, changes its basic color and removes vehicle Heat. reported No preview says a mod shop does the same, and whether Rideout does resprays at all is not stated; the wanted level explainer has the full list of evidence icons.

Real-world inspiration

The style Rockstar describes is a real one, even if no real shop has been matched to Rideout. A donk, or hi-riser, is a full-size American sedan lifted on wheels of 20 inches or more. The classic base is a 1971–1976 Chevrolet Impala or Caprice, and Miami is one of the style’s home scenes. Reading Rideout as Rockstar’s nod to that South Florida culture is our inference; Rockstar has not said so.

Still unknown

  • Where in Vice City the shop stands. Community wikis say Crosstown. rumor
  • Prices, the full parts list and which cars can take a donk build.
  • Whether it also handles repairs and resprays, as Los Santos Customs did in GTA V.

Deciding whether it is worth $20? Read which edition to buy or the upgrade guide, and compare Standard and Ultimate.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need the Ultimate Edition for Rideout Customs?

Yes. Rockstar says the shop is only open for business with the Ultimate Edition. Standard Edition owners can add it any time with the $20 Ultimate Edition Upgrade.

Where is Rideout Customs in GTA 6?

In Vice City, reportedly: that comes from the longer version of Rockstar's June 24 press copy as reprinted by TheSixthAxis, and the item text on Rockstar's site today names no city. Rockstar has not named the neighborhood or shown the shop on a map. Community wikis place it in Crosstown, a district name that comes from leak-era fan mapping, so treat that as a rumor.

What is a donk?

A real-world custom style: a full-size American sedan, classically a 1971–1976 Chevrolet Impala or Caprice, lifted to sit on wheels of 20 inches or more. It is also called a hi-riser, the word Rockstar uses in its own caption for the gold car, and Miami is one of the style's home scenes.

Is Rideout Customs the only mod shop in GTA 6?

No. One-Eyed Willie's in Lake Leonida is the other Ultimate-only shop, built around off-road mods and hand-painted liveries. Previews say mod shops have specialties, with some options sold only at certain locations. Shops open to Standard players have not been named yet.

What changed on this page

  • Marked the shop's Vice City location as reported: it comes from TheSixthAxis's reprint of Rockstar's June 24 press copy, not from Rockstar's own site.
