One correction worth making: some sites say the Extended Look shows Jason and Lucia on a zoo date. The date detail comes from the press previews, not from a scene in the video, and none of the Extended Look recaps we checked (Engadget, SVG, Postmode and the community wiki’s synopsis) mentions a zoo. None of the Extended Look’s four story jobs (the Venture Apartments, Effluvia, Raul’s getaway and Megamundo HQ) takes place at a zoo.
Zoo dates
Previews describe a relationship with no date menu. You build it by doing things together, such as visiting the zoo, kayaking or walking on the beach, and by texting, saying goodnight and holding hands. It moves through states rather than a meter, and romance is optional; skip it and Jason and Lucia stay partners in crime. reported The date guide and the relationship explainer cover the system.
Animals
The clearest animal interaction Rockstar has shown is with a dog: in the Extended Look, Jason pets one and a small angel icon appears (Postmode). Where it might be
Rockstar has not placed the zoo. Fans expect a version of Zoo Miami, which sits in the southwestern suburbs of Miami-Dade. That would put the game’s zoo in the outer suburbs of Vice City rather than out in the Grassrivers wetlands or the Keys. We list it under Vice City for that reason alone. rumor
Precedent
GTA V had no zoo; its wildlife lived in the hills and the ocean. The nearest Rockstar precedent for studying animals is Red Dead Redemption 2’s compendium, which filled in as you observed and hunted species in the wild.
