On this page
The US and UK prices come from Rockstar. We re-read the eurozone, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, Brazilian and Indian prices on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store on September 23, 2026, and Mexico's on the Microsoft Store, and they match Vice's figures. South Korea's Microsoft Store prices matched too when we read them on September 28. Every other row comes from Vice's survey of June 29, 2026, four days after pre-orders opened, so it is tagged reported; the Source column says which is which. The US-dollar column converts the Standard price at that day's exchange rates. For what each edition includes, see the GTA 6 price page and Standard vs Ultimate.

In every region we checked, Standard plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade costs exactly the Ultimate price, so waiting costs nothing. On the Microsoft Store the upgrade is NZ$35 in New Zealand, ¥2,480 in Japan, ₩23,000 in South Korea, R$100 in Brazil, MX$380 in Mexico and ₹1,500 in India.
Digital pre-orders also include one free month of GTA+ on both PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store (Sony's version of the offer excludes Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia and Taiwan). It auto-renews, so read how to claim the free GTA+ month before you redeem it.
Where GTA 6 is cheapest and most expensive
Converted to US dollars, the Standard Edition is cheapest in South Korea (about $58), Japan (about $61) and India (about $63). It is most expensive in Israel (about $107), Hungary (about $102) and Switzerland (about $98). Saudi Arabia and the UAE charge the same $79.99 as the US.
UK buyers pay about $92 in dollar terms, more than Americans, because UK prices include 20 percent VAT and US prices do not include sales tax.
How to read the table
- Ultimate costs 22–29 percent more than Standard in every region. The smallest gap is Brazil (22 percent) and the largest is the UK (29 percent). In the US the gap is $20, or 25 percent. If you are undecided, buy Standard and upgrade later.
- Tax handling differs. UK, European, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese and Indian prices include VAT or GST. US and Canadian prices add sales tax at checkout.
- Boxed copies start at the same list price. The physical edition is a Standard Edition download code in a box, so a retailer sale is the only realistic way to pay less.
- UK finance. O2 sells GTA 6 for £20 up front plus £1.39 a month for 36 months at 0% APR, £70.04 in total, subject to a credit check.
- Region-hopping is a bad trade. Store accounts are tied to one country, PlayStation codes are locked to the account region they were sold for, and Japanese codes expire 170 days after launch. Xbox game codes are the exception: Rockstar says they are not region-locked. The launch-night guide explains the related New Zealand time-zone trick.
Outside the US and Canada? Skip the Amazon links. The Amazon boxes on this page go to amazon.com. Amazon's listing for the boxed PS5 copy says its code can only be used on a PlayStation account registered to the US or Canada, so it will not redeem on a UK, European, Australian or other account. Buy from a store in your own country instead.
Prices can change. Rows marked Vice are from June 29, 2026. Stores sometimes adjust local prices when exchange rates move, so check your own store at checkout. For store-by-store buying options, see where to pre-order GTA 6.
Buying in the US or Canada?
These are amazon.com listings. Amazon says its PS5 box only works on PlayStation accounts registered in the US or Canada. Everywhere else, buy from a store in your own country.

Frequently asked questions
How much is GTA 6 in the UK?
£69.99 for the Standard Edition and £89.99 for the Ultimate Edition, VAT included. Those are Rockstar's own UK prices.
How much is GTA 6 in Europe?
€79.99 for Standard and €99.99 for Ultimate across the eurozone, VAT included. We read those prices on the German and French PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store listings on September 23, 2026. Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania use their own currencies and are listed in the table.
How much is GTA 6 in Canada, Australia and Japan?
Canada: CA$109.99 for Standard and CA$139.99 for Ultimate, before sales tax. Australia: AU$129.95 and AU$159.95, GST included. Japan: ¥9,800 and ¥12,280, tax included. All come from the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store listings, checked September 23, 2026. The Ultimate Edition Upgrade is CA$30, AU$30 and ¥2,480. Rockstar Support says Japanese game codes expire 170 days after launch.
Where is GTA 6 cheapest?
In US-dollar terms, South Korea (about $58), Japan (about $61) and India (about $63) have the lowest Standard Edition prices in Vice's survey. Israel (about $107) and Hungary (about $102) have the highest.
Is GTA 6 cheaper if I buy from another region?
On paper, sometimes. In practice, Rockstar Support says PlayStation codes only work on accounts from the region they were sold for, and store accounts, payment methods and gift cards are tied to one country. Amazon's US listing for the boxed PS5 copy says the same: its code only works on PlayStation accounts registered to the US or Canada. Xbox game codes are not region-locked, but Rockstar still recommends buying in your account's country. We do not recommend region-hopping.
Is the Xbox price the same as PlayStation?
Yes, in every market we checked on September 23, 2026: the US, UK, eurozone, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brazil and India. In Mexico the Microsoft Store shows MX$1,499 and MX$1,879, while the PlayStation Store page shows MXN 1,292.24 and 1,619.83, which is the same price less 16 percent IVA (our reading). For other countries, check your own store before you buy, because those figures come from a press survey.
What changed on this page
- Checked South Korea on the Microsoft Store: ₩89,800 Standard, ₩112,800 Ultimate and ₩23,000 for the Ultimate upgrade. Added a note that the Amazon links on this page are for US and Canadian buyers, because Amazon says its boxed PS5 code only works on US and Canadian PlayStation accounts.
- Added the Japanese price (¥9,800 Standard, ¥12,280 Ultimate) to the summary and the FAQ, with the ¥2,480 upgrade and the 170-day expiry on Japanese codes.
- Corrected Mexico to MX$1,499 and MX$1,879, expanded the table from 10 to 29 regions with US-dollar equivalents, credited the regional prices to Vice's June 29 survey instead of a store check, and added Rockstar's code-region rules (PlayStation codes are region-locked, Xbox codes are not). Re-read the eurozone, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, Brazilian, Indian and Mexican prices and the regional upgrade prices from the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store, and marked which rows are store-checked.
