What Rockstar has said about radio

Very little. Rockstar's only statement came with the album announcement on September 17, 2026: details about the dynamic score and "the next evolution of in-game radio" are still to come. No station names, DJs or playlists have come from Rockstar, Take-Two, Sony or Microsoft.

The album is a separate product. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is 34 original songs from Atlantic Records, out the same day as the game. Rockstar has not said whether any of them play on in-game stations. Our album announcement report has the singles released so far.

Until Rockstar names its stations, the six album singles are the new GTA 6 music you can play today. They stream now, Amazon Music included, and Amazon Music says the full digital album "will be available on November 18, 2026 at 21:00 PST", midnight Eastern on November 19.

Music Unlimited is Amazon's full-catalog streaming plan. On September 28 Amazon offered Prime members 4 months of it free, a limited-time offer that then renews as a paid monthly plan unless you cancel. What the Extended Look showed

The Extended Look (26:48 of gameplay, August 27, 2026) features 14 licensed songs, from Depeche Mode's "People Are People" to Phil Collins, Def Leppard and Sexyy Red. The full list is on every GTA 6 song so far. Some play from a car radio during drives, but none of the press recaps we checked report a radio menu or a station name on screen.

The one radio name in the footage is Vice City FM, on an ad on a phone box that fan recap site Postmode caught. That makes it a brand inside Leonida, not a confirmed playable station. We list it as reported below.

How radio works, according to previews

Press and creators watched Rob Nelson play at Rockstar North in July 2026. Vice summed up the TGG and TroisCouleurs previews on September 5, 2026. reported

  • No radio wheel. You scroll through stations one at a time instead of picking from a wheel.
  • Podcasts on demand. Podcasts have their own menu, separate from live stations.
  • Much more TV. The TV system is described as far bigger than GTA V's, with shows made by outside animation studios.
  • A streamer mode. Vice's summary says a Streamer Mode can switch off copyrighted music, and GTABase's roundup of the previews describes the same toggle for streamers and video makers.

These were hands-off sessions, so treat the details as reported until Rockstar describes the system itself.

Station names reported from the August 2026 leak

rumor Rumor. These names come from press coverage of development footage that leaked in August 2026. How old that build is has not been established. We do not link to or embed leaked media, and none of these names is confirmed. Stations in development builds get renamed and cut. See our leaks page for how the leak unfolded.

Kotaku listed 14 stations on August 24, 2026, by name only. Consequence repeated the count on September 18 and noted that several songs heard in the leaked clips later turned up in Rockstar's official footage. That lends the list some weight. It does not make it official, and no outlet we cite has reported what each station plays.

Three names would be returns. V-Rock and Emotion 98.3 were stations in the 2002 Vice City (our Vice City history explains the connection), and Worldwide FM was Gilles Peterson's station in GTA V. CircoLoco Records Radio would tie in with CircoLoco Records, the dance label Rockstar co-founded with the CircoLoco party brand.

Honey FM shows up in fan databases but not in any press list, so we treat it as unverified.

Frequently asked questions

What radio stations are in GTA 6?

None are official. Rockstar has not named a single station as of September 28, 2026. Press coverage of footage that leaked in August 2026 listed 14 station names, including V-Rock, Emotion 98.3 and Worldwide FM, but they are rumors until Rockstar publishes a list.

Are V-Rock and Emotion 98.3 back in GTA 6?

Possibly, but not confirmed. Both names from the 2002 Vice City appear in the station list that Kotaku reported from leaked footage in August 2026. Rockstar has not announced either station.

Does GTA 6 have a radio wheel?

Reportedly not. Press who watched the game played in July 2026 said the traditional radio wheel is gone and you scroll through stations one at a time instead. This is a preview report, not an official Rockstar description.

Can you listen to podcasts in GTA 6?

Previews say yes. Podcasts reportedly sit in their own on-demand menu, separate from live radio, and TV is much bigger than in GTA V. Rockstar has not detailed either feature.

Is GTA 6: The Album the radio soundtrack?

Not as far as anyone knows. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is 34 original tracks from Atlantic Records, out November 19, 2026. Rockstar has not said whether those songs play on in-game stations, and the trailers and Extended Look used licensed songs too.

What changed on this page

  • Page created: what Rockstar has said about radio, what the Extended Look showed, and the station names reported from leak coverage, each with its status.
