What the album is
Rockstar announced the album on its Newswire on September 17, 2026, and released six singles the same day. It is a collection of new songs recorded for GTA 6 by a very mixed list of artists, from Travis Scott and Morgan Wallen to Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards. The official store describes a "genre-defying roster" and says the songs capture the energy of Vice City and Leonida. Rockstar says the album was created in partnership with Atlantic Records; the store's small print credits the recording to Atlantic and Take-Two Interactive, manufactured and distributed under exclusive license.
It is not a compilation of the licensed songs from the trailers. Tom Petty, the Pointer Sisters and the 14 Extended Look tracks are separate; they are listed on every GTA 6 song so far. The announcement itself is covered in our album news post.

Resellers moved fast on the limited pressing. Rockstar's UK and European store sold out in under an hour, and NME found completed eBay UK sales at £215 to £315, two to three times the list price, the next day. reported The US store still took pre-orders for it on September 23, 2026, and listed it as sold out when we checked again on September 28. official We cannot tell exactly when it sold out, and no restock has been announced in any region. The album on Amazon
Amazon sells the album digitally and on CD and vinyl. Amazon Music lists the digital album for pre-order and says it "will be available on November 18, 2026 at 21:00 PST", which is midnight Eastern on November 19, and the singles released so far already stream there. Amazon lists the CD and the vinyl for November 20, plus an Amazon Exclusive vinyl. Amazon sets its own prices, which can differ from the official store's.

The Spotify push
Spotify put up billboards with GTA VI artwork in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London and Mexico City to push the pre-save. Its first-day figures, as reported by The Source on September 22: reported
4.1 million global streams for the six singles in 24 hours.
Morgan Wallen's "Last Thing You Need" debuted at No. 23 on Spotify's US daily chart, the highest of the six.
Travis Scott's "RHYNO" was the most shared, out of more than 137,000 shares across the singles.
Listening to the official Grand Theft Auto playlist rose nearly 40,000 percent day over day.
More than 2,000 GTA VI playlists were created, and more than 250,000 user playlists added at least one single.
Searches for "GTA VI" on Spotify rose 3,042 percent. The US led listening, then Brazil, Mexico, the UK and Germany.
Talk of Spotify inside the game is fan speculation. Neither company has said anything about it. rumor The billboard campaign is written up in our Spotify billboards report.
Is this the GTA 6 soundtrack?
Only partly, as far as we know. Rockstar said with the announcement that details on the game's dynamic score and "the next evolution of in-game radio" are still to come. It has not said whether album tracks play on stations, in missions or at all inside the game. The trailers and the Extended Look used 20 licensed songs, which suggests the game still licenses existing music on top of the album. That is our reading. Precedent: the GTA V album
Earlier GTA games had soundtrack releases too, but the closest precedent is GTA V's. The Music of Grand Theft Auto V came out digitally on September 24, 2013, a week after GTA V, in three volumes: Original Music (18 tracks), The Score (22) and The Soundtrack (19 songs from the radio). CD and vinyl only arrived on December 9, 2014, through Mass Appeal Records, more than a year later.
