Who is Raul Bautista
Raul Bautista is the professional in GTA 6’s cast. Where Brian Heder is an old smuggler and Boobie Ike a businessman, Raul robs banks, and he is good at it. His tagline is “Experience counts.”
The Extended Look gave him the showcase’s biggest chase: a getaway through Vice Beach and out over the Rialto Causeway, with Lucia at the wheel and Jason firing at the police. Rob Nelson told Famitsu that once control passes to Lucia, Jason and Raul shoot from the back seat. reported If GTA 6 has a heist crew in the GTA V sense, Raul is the obvious person to run it.
Official background
Rockstar’s bio calls him confident, charming and cunning, a seasoned bank robber always on the hunt for talent ready to take the risks that bring the biggest rewards. The warning sits under his second tagline, “A professional adapts”: his recklessness raises the stakes with every score, and sooner or later his crew will have to double down or take their chips off the table. official
His line on the official site: life is full of surprises, and we would all be wise to remember that.
The causeway getaway
The Extended Look’s third mission, beat by beat. official
- Lucia drives his black Schafter V12 along the Admiral Causeway to Vice Beach, where she and Jason wait outside a robbery. Lucia wonders aloud whether Raul could be a cop.
- Raul dives into the back seat as alarms go off and tells them to go, now: “What did you think I needed a lift for?”
- He hands Jason a carbine, and the two fire on Vice City and Vice Beach police. Lucia shakes them by reversing into an alley, gets spotted, and spins the car around. At one point Raul asks whether she is a professional.
- In a Rialto Islands parking lot the crew torches the Schafter with a Molotov and switches to a Burrito van, then rolls out over the Rialto Causeway, past unsuspecting police and through the toll plaza.
- In a Downtown Vice City alley Raul pays Jason in cash, says this could be the start of something good, tells them to keep their phones on, and leaves on the back of a woman’s Faggio scooter.
PC Gamer, reading gun names off official material, says Raul holds a Capo pistol in one of Rockstar’s screenshots. reported Matching the guns in the Extended Look sequence to a Capo pistol and a Duke Arms carbine is fan identification. rumor
His past: what is claimed
Rockstar’s bio says nothing about where Raul comes from. Three ideas circulate, and they are not equally solid.
| Claim | Where it comes from | Status |
|---|---|---|
| He once worked for Dominican intelligence | Cal Hampton’s digging, relayed by Jason in Extended Look dialogue, per recaps and the community wiki | reported a character’s claim |
| He speaks with a Dominican accent from the Cibao region | Fan analysis of his lines | rumor |
| He was Brian Heder’s cellmate | The fan recap site Postmode and the community wiki call him Brian’s former cellmate; no press recap we checked says so | rumor |
Consider the source on the first one. Cal’s official tagline is “What if everything on the internet was true?”
Appearance and personality
- Look: long swept-back hair, beard, tinted glasses, open-collar shirts and a pale suit; leather driving gloves on a job.
- Official screenshots: on the phone in a dark room, at the wheel with a pistol and stacks of cash, arms folded on a yacht, and at a night party in a white jacket.
- Temperament: smooth when things go well, loud when they do not, and always pitching the next job.
Relationships
Jason and Lucia. New recruits. The causeway job is an audition, and his parting words promise more work.
Cal Hampton. The source of the intelligence claim, which Jason passes on.
Brian Heder. Recaps say Brian is the one who puts Jason and Lucia in touch with Raul. The idea that the two men were cellmates comes from a fan recap and is unconfirmed.

Who plays Raul
No cast is announced, and performers were reportedly reminded in September 2026 that their NDAs run until November 19. reported Fans sometimes put forward Spanish actor Oscar Jaenada on looks alone. We could not trace that to any outlet, so it is fan chatter, not a lead. rumor See every casting claim on the cast page.
Open questions
- Whether GTA 6 has a formal heist system, and whether Raul fronts it.
- Whether the “double down or cash out” line in his bio points to a story choice.
- Whether the intelligence past is true in the story, a cover, or just Cal.
The streets of his getaway are in the Vice City guide and the Rialto Islands page. For what a job like this pays, read the money system explainer, and for a smaller score of your own, the store robbery guide.

What changed on this page
- Stopped placing Jason in the passenger seat during the getaway (Rob Nelson told Famitsu that Jason and Raul shoot from the back seat once control passes to Lucia), and stopped routing the getaway over the Admiral Causeway, which the community synopsis has Lucia take on the way in.
- Reframed his background: recaps trace the Dominican intelligence claim to Cal in the Extended Look, the accent idea is fan analysis, and the cellmate idea comes from one fan recap; also fixed the getaway vehicles (one swap, to a Burrito van), and removed an untraceable Oscar Jaenada casting claim and the t-shirt photo story behind it. Also credited the Capo pistol name to PC Gamer's reading of an official screenshot (reported), dated his first appearance to the official bio and screenshots rather than Trailer 2, and noted that Jason relays Cal's findings on screen.
