Allied Crystal is the company that runs Ambrosia. Rockstar’s region text names only two powers in the town: “The Allied Crystal sugar refinery provides the jobs, while the local biker gang provides almost everything else.” The refinery is the reason the town exists, and its smokestacks fill Rockstar’s skyline shots of the region.
What Rockstar says
Ambrosia’s tagline is “Keeping Leonida Sweet,” and its headline is a warning: “The battle for the health and wealth of Leonida begins here.” The blurb says American industry and old school values still reign supreme in the heart of the state, “whatever the cost.” Allied Crystal is the industry in that sentence. The biker gang, whose vests in Rockstar’s screenshot read Final Chapter MC, is the rest.
What official material shows
| Where | What is shown | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Ambrosia postcard on Rockstar’s site | The refinery at sunset: smoking stacks, a silo painted as an American flag, and an office block with the Allied Crystal logo and a flagpole | Official |
| Official screenshot, night | The town’s lights with the refinery stacks behind, red warning lights on the chimneys | Official |
| Official screenshot, sunset | A field on fire in front of power lines, with the stacks on the horizon | Official |
| Official screenshot, bikers | Roadside yard signs reading “Henshaw for Mayor,” and one that pairs the Allied Crystal logo and “The Sweet Lifeblood of Ambrosia” with “Vote Erin Henshaw” | Official |
We checked the sign text against the full-size screenshot. The same shot has a road sign for the Ambrosia County Sheriff’s Office, and a rival candidate’s sign that is too hidden to read. Community wikis read the rival as Krever. Rumor
A second Allied Crystal slogan quoted on some wikis comes from a leaked clip, so we leave it out.
A company town
A sugar company putting its logo on a mayoral campaign sign tells you who runs Ambrosia. Add the “health and wealth” headline and the burning field, and the refinery looks set up as a target for satire: Florida’s real sugar industry is tied up in farm subsidies, state politics, Everglades water pollution and pre-harvest cane burning. That is our reading. Rockstar has not described a single mission at the refinery.
Real-world inspiration
Fans match Allied Crystal to U.S. Sugar, whose mill looms over Clewiston, the town known as “America’s Sweetest Town” on the southwestern shore of Lake Okeechobee. Clewiston is the fan-identified model for Ambrosia as a whole, and Lake Leonida stands in for Okeechobee. Both matches are fan readings. Rumor
In the sugar country south of the lake, cane fields are burned before harvest, and the ash that drifts onto nearby towns is known locally as black snow. Rockstar’s burning-field screenshot is a close match, but that too is our reading.
What is still unknown
- Whether the refinery is enterable or a mission location.
- Who wins the mayoral race, and whether the player gets involved.
- Who runs Allied Crystal. No executive has been named.
For the rest of the region, see the Ambrosia guide, and the brands directory for Leonida’s other companies. The Leonida map shows where sugar country sits in the state.
