The easiest gift is the boxed copy: a Standard Edition download code for the right console, in stores from November 12, 2026. For a digital copy, give PlayStation Store or Xbox gift cards from the recipient's country (in the US, two $50 cards cover Standard), because PlayStation has no gift button and we could not confirm Microsoft's Buy as gift option for the GTA 6 pre-order.
How to Avoid GTA 6 Scams: APKs, Betas, Giveaways
GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Any PC or phone download, beta invite, paid early access or free copy is a scam. Get the game from the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Store or a retailer you already trust, and never type a password into a page you reached from a link someone sent you.
How to Upgrade GTA 6 to Ultimate Edition
Buy the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade ($20 in the US, £20 in the UK, AU$30 in Australia) from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store on the account that owns your Standard copy. Rockstar says you can buy it at any time; it is on pre-order on Xbox, but the PlayStation listing showed no price on September 26. Boxed copies qualify once the code is redeemed.
How to Refund GTA 6 or Cancel a Pre-Order
Before launch, you get your money back by cancelling the pre-order with the store you bought from: on PlayStation before the game starts downloading (a pre-load from November 12 ends refund eligibility), on Xbox in Order history up to 10 days before launch (about November 9), and for boxed copies before they ship (on Amazon, in Your Orders). After launch, PlayStation refunds a downloaded game only if it is faulty, and Xbox takes refund requests but does not approve them all.

Every digital GTA 6 pre-order on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store includes one free month of GTA+, and you can claim it now: on PS5 check out on the GTA+ store page at no extra cost by March 31, 2027, and on Xbox redeem it under Offers & credits within 180 days of pre-ordering. It then renews at $7.99 a month, so turn off auto-renew the same day.

On PS5, open PlayStation Store, press the triangle button, choose … (More) > Redeem Code and enter the 12-character code. On Xbox, open Store, press the View button, choose Redeem and enter the 25-character code; the game then pre-loads from November 12, 2026.

Buy a PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD with a heatsink that meets Sony's size rules (250 GB to 8 TB, 5,500 MB/s or faster recommended). Update the PS5, turn it off and unplug it, fit the drive in the expansion slot, then format it when the console starts. Do it before pre-load opens on November 12, 2026.

Scan the car with the WAINK phone app to see its security, the tool you need, its tracker and its value. Older cars open with a slim jim (on PS5, Triangle and then the right stick from 3 to 9 o'clock, as read from the Extended Look), while expensive modern cars need a key cloner.
How to Rob a Store in GTA 6
Scout for cameras and witnesses, go in masked and take control of the room. At the safe, previews describe a choice between blowing it open fast, which damages some of the valuables, and finding the combination for a bigger take while the police close in.
How to Fast Travel in GTA 6
Order a car with the Ryde Me phone app, or ride a bus, train or tram, according to previews. No map-menu teleport has been shown, and whether you can skip a Ryde Me trip, and what it costs, has not been revealed.
How to Save Your Game in GTA 6
Rockstar has not shown how saving works, and previewers have not reported it. Recent Rockstar games autosaved after missions and let you save manually by sleeping or from a menu, so expect something similar until we confirm on November 19.

How to Go on a Date in GTA 6
There is no date menu: bring your partner along to open-world activities such as the zoo, kayaking, beach walks or the gym, and text, say goodnight and hold hands. Previews say the relationship moves through states rather than a meter, and romance is optional.
How to Work Out and Build Muscle in GTA 6
Buy a membership at a gym's front desk and train: previews say cardio improves stamina and strength training raises health, with modest gains to Focus. Eating too much adds weight, stopping training loses muscle, and sleep affects how fast your stats recover.

Frequently asked questions
Which GTA 6 guide should I read first?
If you have not bought the game, start with the pre-order guide and the edition guide. If you have, read the preload guide next: pre-loading opens November 12, 2026, a week before the November 19 launch.
Are the gameplay guides based on the real game?
Not yet. GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026. Until then the gameplay guides are built from Rockstar's trailers, the Extended Look (26:48 of gameplay) from August 27, 2026, press previews and Rockstar interviews, and each one says what is still unconfirmed. From launch day we check every step in the game and relabel the guide "Verified in game".
Can I still get the GTA 6 pre-order bonus?
Yes, until November 19. Take-Two says every pre-order and purchase made before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar Support lists the pack in physical pre-orders too, alongside the game code, but not the GTA+ month. Digital pre-orders on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store also include a free month of GTA+ that you can claim right away.
Do these guides cover PC?
No, because no PC version has been announced. The guides cover PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the two platforms GTA 6 launches on.
Is there an official GTA 6 strategy guide?
Not yet. No official GTA 6 guide book has been announced as of September 26, 2026. Any "GTA 6 guide" or walkthrough book on sale now is unofficial, and none can contain a real walkthrough yet, because nobody outside Rockstar has played the finished game. How often are the guides updated?
Each guide shows the date it was last checked. Buying and setup guides change when Rockstar, Sony or Microsoft change their terms. Gameplay guides get rewritten against the released game in launch week.
