GTA 6 characters: every name revealed so far

The story so far

Rockstar's premise is short. The odds have always been against Jason and Lucia. An easy score goes wrong, and they land on "the darkest side of the sunniest place in America," inside a criminal conspiracy that spans Leonida, with nobody to rely on but each other. official

Rupert Humphries, Rockstar's senior vice president of narrative, told Dazed it is a Bonnie and Clyde type of story, and Vice's preview report says their relationship choices may affect how parts of the story unfold, although Rockstar hasn't explained how significant those changes are. reported The relationship grows through shared activities rather than a meter, and each lead has a separate reputation; see the relationship explainer and Criminal Profile. For chapters and length, read the story guide.

Playing as Jason and Lucia

You control both, but the story decides when: some missions lock you to one lead, some force a switch at set moments, and some let you swap freely. reported The character switching explainer has the detail, and the how-to-switch guide covers the controls.

Everyone else seen so far

No Rockstar bios exist for these characters. Everything below comes from the trailers, the Extended Look and Rockstar's edition copy. Names link to a character page where one exists, otherwise to the people of Leonida directory.

Gangs, crews and police units from the footage have their own directories: gangs and factions and police and law enforcement.

Is GTA 6 in the same universe as GTA V?

Very likely: GTA 6 fits the HD universe of GTA IV and GTA V, not the separate world of the 2002 Vice City. The clearest sign in official footage is in the Extended Look: as Lucia speeds away from police, an optional livestream feed opens with R3, and Engadget reads it as a nod to Lifeinvader, GTA V's social network. reported

The second sign is Valentina. She shares a name and look with the Valentina from GTA Online's 2025 Money Fronts update, and fans widely identify her as the first returning character. Rockstar has not said so. reported

There is no sign of Tommy Vercetti himself. So far he is only referenced in Rockstar's edition copy: the Vintage Vice City Pack's weapon pattern is inspired by his palm-tree shirt, and the Ultimate Edition's Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers are described as sourced from the Vercetti Estate. official The older games are covered in our Vice City history. Trevor, CJ, Niko and the other fan favourites each get a status check, with every rumor traced to its source, on GTA 6 returning characters.

Voice actors and casting

Rockstar has named no cast. Stephen Root says he is in the game, and press ties him to Brian Heder reported; every other name, from Manni L. Perez to Dylan Rourke, is rumor. The evidence for each is in the cast directory.
