Can you still pre-order GTA 6?
Yes. Pre-orders stay open until launch on November 19, 2026, and after that the same stores simply sell the game. official Pre-ordering does not get you anything a launch-day purchase misses: Take-Two's rule is that every pre-order and purchase before November 20 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital purchases on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store before that date include the GTA+ month. official What an early digital pre-order does give you is time: it can pre-load from November 12, so the game is ready at the unlock.
Where to pre-order or buy
Rockstar announced the June 25 start date on June 18, 2026. Take-Two's June 24 release said pre-orders would open at midnight local time on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and Rockstar Games Store, and at retailers worldwide. These are the main options.

Buying the box on Amazon
Amazon (US) sells the boxed Standard Edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S: a download code with no disc, with the Vintage Vice City Pack. This is what its listing and help pages said when we read them on September 28, 2026.
- Delivery. Amazon says customer shipments begin arriving November 12, pre-load day. Prime members get free release-day delivery on Thursday, November 12, to addresses in the continental US. Standard delivery can arrive later: for one Seattle-area address it showed November 16.
- When you pay. Amazon charges when it ships the box, not when you order.
- Pre-order Price Guarantee. Amazon's terms: "the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com between the time you placed your order and the end of the day of the release date." Amazon lists November 12 as the release date for these boxes, so the window ends then and does not reach Black Friday on November 27. Amazon's help page adds that it does not apply to lower prices offered through a program you have to join, such as Prime-only deals.
- Region. The PS5 code only works on PlayStation accounts registered in the US or Canada. Xbox codes are not region-locked.
- Cancelling. Cancel in Your Orders any time before the box ships.
Amazon's listing offers Prime members free release-day delivery on November 12 to continental US addresses. New members can start a 30-day free trial (Amazon, checked September 28); a trial started before mid-October runs out before November 12, so start it later or keep the membership. The pre-order bonus
Take-Two's wording is that "all Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026" include the Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier, the Shore Court Garage, 1980s outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a tropical weapon pattern. It comes with Standard and Ultimate alike. Because the cutoff is the day after launch, you can wait for reviews and still get it.
Digital pre-orders on PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store add one free month of GTA+, which is for the existing GTA Online in GTA V. You can redeem it right away rather than at launch. Boxed copies do not include it. It renews at $7.99 a month, and renewals are generally not refundable, so switch renewal off the day you claim it. Cancelling a pre-order
- PlayStation Store. Paid more than 14 days before release: cancel any time up to release, but only if the game has not started downloading. Pre-loading counts, and PS5 consoles with Auto-Download on start pre-loading when pre-load opens. Rockstar Support says that is local midnight on November 12, but if PS5 follows the store clock as the unlock does, the whole US would start at 12:00 AM Eastern, which is 9:00 PM Pacific on November 11 (our reading). If you are unsure, cancel by November 10. Paid 14 days or less before release: you have 14 days from the order, with the same download rule.
- Microsoft Store. Xbox Support says you can cancel from your order history at account.microsoft.com up to 10 days before launch, which works out to about November 9. Card pre-orders are charged around then. After that you have to request a refund, which is not guaranteed.
- Rockstar Store. Orders, including the Collector's Box, are cancelled through its fulfillment partner Xsolla, and only before they ship. Xsolla says one cancellation request cancels every item in that order and cannot be undone. official If one order holds both the game box and the Collector's Box, expect both to go (our reading).
- Amazon. Amazon's help pages say you can cancel an order in Your Orders until it enters the shipping process, and Amazon charges when the box ships. Its help page notes that a pre-order can enter the shipping process before the release date, so do not leave cancelling to the last day.
- Other retailers. An unopened box follows the store's normal return policy. A redeemed code is almost never refundable.

Boxed copies are a code, not a disc
The boxed Standard Edition holds a download code, becomes available to ship and pick up from November 12 so you can pre-load, and cannot be lent or resold once redeemed. On PlayStation the code only works on an account from the region it was sold for; Xbox codes are not region-locked. The $399.99 Collector's Box is not a game pre-order
Since September 24, 2026 the Rockstar Store has taken pre-orders for The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection, a $399.99 box of 11 collectibles built around Macca the Gator, "Leonida's hit TV show" in Rockstar's words. The listing says the game is sold separately, so pre-ordering the box does not get you GTA 6. official The Vintage Vice City Pack comes with purchases of the game, so the box on its own does not earn it (our reading).
- Where: Rockstar sells it on its own store, limited to one per person, and you must log in to a Rockstar Games account. official In Australia, where the Rockstar Store does not ship, EB Games sold it instead: EB Games' listing showed A$699.95 with a A$100 deposit, "Strictly 1 per customer", from 11:00 AEST on September 28, and read "Presold Out" the same day. reported Apart from EB Games in Australia, an Amazon or marketplace listing for it is a reseller, not Rockstar.
- When and where it ships: from November 19, a week after the game box, to 23 countries: the US, Canada, the UK and 20 in Europe. Duties may apply outside the US and UK, and it is not eligible for free shipping. Rockstar's post still says pre-order details for Asia, Latin America and Australia are coming; New Zealand is not mentioned. official
- Stock: Rockstar sells it "while supplies last" in limited quantities. The US Rockstar Store was still taking pre-orders on September 28. official Press Start reports the Australian stock sold out almost instantly. reported

Which edition to pre-order
Standard is the full game. Ultimate adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, shops, a gang-compound raid and a car-restoration commission for $20 more, and the $20 upgrade can be bought at any time, so Standard now and Ultimate later costs the same. The short verdict is in which GTA 6 edition to buy.

Can you still pre-order GTA 6?
Yes, until launch on November 19, 2026, on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store and at retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop in the US, GAME and Currys in the UK, and EB Games and JB Hi-Fi in Australia. After launch the same stores sell it as a normal purchase. Standard is $79.99 and Ultimate is $99.99. Of the game, the Rockstar Store sells only the boxed Standard Edition; its $399.99 Collector's Box is merchandise with no game inside.

Does pre-ordering give early access?
No. Neither edition includes early access. Pre-load opens November 12. PlayStation Store listings put the unlock at midnight on November 19 in each store region's main time zone, which is 9:00 PM PT on November 18 on the US West Coast; Xbox has not listed a time. Can I pre-order the Ultimate Edition in a box?
No. Rockstar Support says a physical version of the Ultimate Edition is not available. Retailers sell the Standard Edition as a download code in a box, and boxed-copy owners buy the $20 upgrade on their console store after redeeming the code.
Can I cancel a GTA 6 pre-order or get a refund?
Yes, but check the store rules. On PlayStation, a pre-order paid more than 14 days before release can be cancelled up to release day only if the download has not started, and pre-loading counts as starting it, so cancel by November 10 if Auto-Download is on. On Xbox, Xbox Support says you can cancel in your order history up to 10 days before launch; after that you have to request a refund.
