Southside is a Vice City district that so far lives in one sentence of Rockstar copy. The Ultimate Edition’s PTT YOUNGIN$ Illegal Goods Store item tells you to raid the compound of “one of Southside Vice City’s loudest and most socially active gangs” and escape with special items and distinct contraband. That makes Southside an official name, and it makes it gang territory.

The PTT Youngin$ raid
The one thing Rockstar says you can do in Southside is rob its loudest gang. The raid is an Ultimate Edition extra, so you need the $99.99 edition or the $20 upgrade on a Standard copy. Rockstar says Ultimate items unlock through the story, with new ones behind each chapter, so it may not be open from the start. Details and the full list are on the PTT Youngin$ Compound and Ultimate Edition items pages.
The loot is described only as special items and distinct contraband. A longer version of the copy, reprinted by TheSixthAxis, says the gang grows premium hydroponics in places you would least expect. Put the two together and the contraband is probably weed, but that is our reading. The gang itself is covered on the PTT Youngin$ page.
“Socially active” is a pointed choice of words. It reads as a crew that lives online and films everything, and Rockstar’s own caption for the item’s image fits: PTT Youngin$ members gathered outside the Illegal Goods Store, one filming two others on a motorcycle.
Where Southside is
Rockstar has not put it on a published map. The name points south, the community GTA Wiki reads it on an Interstate 97 exit sign as Trailer 2 heads into the city, and community wikis place it at Vice City’s southern limits. Our Trailer 2 breakdown covers the highway drive at about the same point in the trailer.
Who you might meet
No story character has been tied to Southside or the PTT Youngin$. Boobie Ike, Dre’Quan Priest and the Real Dimez are Vice City’s music-and-money crew, but nothing official links them to this gang or this part of town.
Real-world inspiration
Fans match Southside to the southern suburbs of Miami-Dade County, such as Cutler Bay and West Perrine. rumor “Southside” is also a plain description, so Rockstar may simply mean the south side of the city.
Still unknown
- Its boundaries and which neighborhoods it covers.
- Where the compound sits, and whether the gang is hostile outside the Ultimate job.
- Whether the PTT Youngin$ appear in the main story at all.
