Ocean Beach

official

Ocean Beach is the beach district of Vice City: pastel art deco hotels, yellow lifeguard stands and a packed strip of white sand on the barrier island across the bay from downtown. Rockstar names it in its own description of the city, and it is one of the few names that survived from GTA: Vice City (2002).

What Rockstar has shown

Rockstar does not caption its footage with district names, so tying these beachfront shots to Ocean Beach is our reading, shared by community wikis. The Trailer 1 breakdown and Trailer 2 breakdown have every shot in order.

Shore Drive and the hotels

Shore Drive is the district’s hotel strip. Rockstar’s pre-order copy invites you to cruise it in the 1955 Vapid Stanier, and the Ultimate Edition calls the 1995 Grotti Cheetah an ode to it.

The Ocean View Hotel is the big returning name. In 2002 it was Tommy Vercetti’s first safehouse; in GTA 6 it has an outdoor bar and pool (Trailer 2), and one of Rockstar’s night screenshots frames its neon sign behind a Vice Beach Police car, with the Hotel Dixon sign lit up across the street. Community wikis read more signs from footage: the Cortez, the Dominion, the Neptune, the Seahorse and the Paramour. reported

The pre-order garage

The Shore Court Garage is part of the Vintage Vice City Pack, which Rockstar gives to every pre-order and purchase made before November 20, 2026. Rockstar’s copy places it a stone’s throw from the sands of Ocean Beach and says it has a weapon locker plus a secure spot to stash stolen goods before you fence them. See the pre-order bonus and properties pages.

Who you will see here

No lead lives here as far as Rockstar has shown. The Effluvia rooftop bar, where Jason and Lucia meet Brian and Lori Heder in the Extended Look, sits in Ocean Beach according to community wikis (Engadget called it downtown). The bank Raul Bautista robs in the same video is on Vice Beach according to the community GTA Wiki. Lucia drives in over the Admiral Causeway, and after the chase the crew swaps cars on the Rialto Islands and leaves over the Rialto Causeway.

Real-world inspiration

South Beach in Miami Beach. Shore Drive plays Ocean Drive, and fans match the Ocean View Hotel to the Clevelander, the Cortez to the Colony and the Dominion to the Cardozo. rumor

Real South Beach may soon wear the game’s branding too: on September 10, 2026, Miami Beach commissioners voted 4-3 on Vice City logos for beach chairs and umbrellas, and reports read that vote two ways. The Vice Beach page has the details. reported

Still unknown

• How many of the hotels you can walk into; see how interiors work.
• Where exactly the Shore Court Garage sits.
• Whether Washington Beach, the other returning beach name from Rockstar’s edition copy, borders Ocean Beach as it did in 2002.
