Quick answer

Search Grand Theft Auto VI in the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, pick Standard ($79.99) or Ultimate ($99.99) and select Pre-Order; from November 19 the same steps buy it outright. Every pre-order and purchase before November 20, 2026 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital pre-orders add a free month of GTA+.

Pre-orders have been open since June 25, 2026, and from November 19 the same steps buy the game outright. This page covers the clicks; to compare stores, read where to pre-order GTA 6. For the edition choice, see Standard vs Ultimate or our verdict, which GTA 6 edition to buy. For prices outside the US, see GTA 6 price in the UK, Europe and Japan.

Can you still pre-order GTA 6?

Yes. Rockstar has not set a pre-order deadline: you can pre-order until the game unlocks on November 19, 2026, and after that the same store pages sell it normally. The date that matters is the bonus. Take-Two says every pre-order and purchase before November 20 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, and the Microsoft Store words it as “Purchase prior to 19 November 2026 23:59:59”. So buy by November 19; the pre-order bonus page has the details.

Code in the box, no disc (PS5: US and Canadian accounts). Amazon delivers from Nov 12, with release-day delivery for Prime.

Pre-order on PS5

  1. Open PlayStation Store from the home screen. The PlayStation App and store.playstation.com work too.
  2. Search Grand Theft Auto VI.
  3. Under Editions, choose Standard Edition ($79.99) or Ultimate Edition ($99.99). Both list the Vintage Vice City Pack, One Month of GTA+ and a 7-Day Pre-load.
  4. Select Pre-Order and confirm payment.
  5. Check your confirmation email. It includes instructions for claiming the GTA+ month.

The listing carries the PS5 Pro Enhanced badge. Sony has not said what the enhancement is; see GTA 6 on PS5 Pro.

One catch: on PlayStation, starting the download ends your right to a refund, and that includes pre-loading. If you might change your mind, read how to cancel and refund a GTA 6 pre-order and decide by November 10, because a US PS5 pre-load may start at 9:00 PM PT on November 11 (our reading).

Pre-order on Xbox Series X|S

  1. Press the Xbox button and open Store, or go to xbox.com on any device.
  2. Search Grand Theft Auto VI.
  3. You will see three products: Grand Theft Auto VI ($79.99), Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition ($99.99) and Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade ($20.00). Only buy the upgrade if you already own Standard.
  4. Select Pre-order and confirm.

If you pay by card, Microsoft charges it about 10 days before release. If you pay from your account balance, it comes out immediately. Xbox Support says you can cancel in Order history up to 10 days before launch. The store page reads “Rating pending, likely Mature 17+”; see the GTA 6 age rating if you are buying for a teenager. On a 512 GB console, check the Series S storage notes.

Pre-order the physical box

The boxed version is the Standard Edition only. Rockstar Support says there is no physical Ultimate Edition. Owners of the box can buy the $20 upgrade once they have redeemed the code.

  • No disc. The box holds a download code, so you still download the whole game. More on the GTA 6 physical edition.
  • No GTA+ month. That bonus is for digital purchases only. The Vintage Vice City Pack is included.
  • Boxes arrive from November 12. Rockstar says physical copies become available for shipping and store pickup on November 12. A shipped box with standard delivery usually lands after pre-load opens, so store pickup or a release-day delivery option are the fastest routes.
  • Region matters on PlayStation. PlayStation codes only work on accounts from the region where they were sold; the US and Canada share one region. Xbox codes are not region-locked.

Rockstar Store. Of the game itself, Rockstar’s own store sells only the physical Standard Edition, for $79.99. It ships to the US, Canada, the UK and 17 European countries, starting November 12, and marks its Vintage Vice City Pack offer “while supplies last.” Orders are handled by its fulfillment partner Xsolla, and you can only cancel before the box ships. The store also sells a $399.99 Collector’s Box, The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection, but that is merchandise with no game inside; see is there a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition.

Retailers. Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop and other major stores sell the same box. Check when your retailer takes payment. Before you choose, read physical vs digital.

Amazon. When we read its listing on September 28, Amazon said deliveries begin arriving November 12 and offered Prime members free release-day delivery that day; standard delivery showed November 16 for a Seattle-area address. Amazon charges when it ships, and its Pre-order Price Guarantee applies. Amazon’s terms: “the price we charge when we ship it to you will be the lowest price offered by Amazon.com between the time you placed your order and the end of the day of the release date.” Amazon lists November 12 as that date, and its help page says lower prices from a program you have to join, such as Prime-only deals, do not count. Its PS5 code only works on PlayStation accounts registered in the US or Canada. You can cancel in Your Orders until the order ships. The details are on GTA 6 on Amazon.

UK and Australia. In the UK, GAME and Currys both take pre-orders at £69.99. In Australia, EB Games lists the game at AU$129.95 with a AU$10 deposit, and JB Hi-Fi at AU$129 (all checked September 23). EB Games says its PS5 box holds a download code that only works on a PlayStation account registered to Australia. The Rockstar Store does not ship to Australia or New Zealand.

What pre-ordering does not get you

  • Early access. Nobody gets in early: each store unlocks every edition at the same moment, which on the US PlayStation Store is midnight Eastern, or 9:00 PM PT on November 18; see the GTA 6 unlock time and GTA 6 early access.
  • A PC copy. No PC version has been announced.
  • An online mode. Both store listings call GTA 6 “a single-player experience” at launch.
  • A console bundle. None has been announced; see GTA 6 console bundles.

After you pre-order

Then use the launch-night checklist so you are playing the moment it unlocks.

Pre-orders opened at midnight local time on June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Store and at retailers.

Do I get anything for pre-ordering GTA 6?

Is there a deadline to pre-order GTA 6?

Rockstar has not set one. You can pre-order until the game unlocks on November 19, 2026, and after that you simply buy it. Can I pre-order GTA 6 on PC?

No. No PC version has been announced, so only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S pre-orders exist.
