Every digital GTA 6 pre-order on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store includes one free month of GTA+, and you can claim it now: on PS5 check out on the GTA+ store page at no extra cost by March 31, 2027, and on Xbox redeem it under Offers & credits within 180 days of pre-ordering. It then renews at $7.99 a month, so turn off auto-renew the same day.

The rules, from Rockstar Support and the store listings:
- One per platform account, however many copies you buy.
- No second month. If you refund GTA 6 and pre-order it again, you do not get another month.
- Existing members can claim it too. The month is added to your membership and your next billing date moves back a month.
- Xbox child accounts with age restrictions cannot redeem it. GTA 6 has no final rating yet; see the GTA 6 age rating.
How to claim it on PS5
- Sign in to the account that pre-ordered GTA 6. Sony also emails redemption instructions after the pre-order.
- Open PlayStation Store and go to the GTA+ page. Search “GTA+”, or use the GTA+ link on the Grand Theft Auto VI store page.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Sony says the transaction completes “at no extra cost”.
- Note the date the checkout shows. Sony says the on-screen instructions give the date your free month turns into a paid $7.99 subscription.
If checkout asks for $7.99, stop. You are probably signed in to a different account from the one that pre-ordered.
How to claim it on Xbox Series X|S
- After a digital pre-order, the console shows a pop-up when the offer is ready.
- Press the Xbox button and open Store.
- Select your profile icon in the top-left corner, then Offers & credits.
- Find the GTA+ offer under Active and select Redeem.
You can also do it in a browser: go to xbox.com/play/user, sign in, select your profile icon, then Offers & credits. The Microsoft Store listing says the 180 days count from when you place the pre-order, so a pre-order placed on June 25 must be redeemed by December 22, 2026.
When to claim it
The free month starts when you claim it, not when GTA 6 comes out. GTA+ benefits are for GTA Online, so claim it in a month when you will actually play GTA Online. Claim it in September and it ends in October, weeks before GTA 6 arrives.
Turn off auto-renew the same day
PS5: go to Settings > Users and Accounts, then Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions. Select GTA+ and choose Cancel Subscription (PlayStation Support). You can also do it in the PlayStation App or in Account Management on the web.
Xbox: sign in at account.microsoft.com/services with the account that redeemed the offer, find GTA+, select Manage, then Cancel subscription and follow the prompts (Xbox Support). If you see Turn on recurring billing instead of Manage, it is already set to expire.
Your free month keeps running to its end date, and then the membership stops. The subscription page should show an end date where the renewal date used to be.
If it renews anyway
Cancel straight away to stop the next charge. Do not count on getting the renewal back. Sony’s policy offers a 14-day refund only on the first purchase of a subscription. For renewals it says you “will not receive a refund for payments already made”. On Xbox, ask Xbox Support, but a refund is not guaranteed.
Is GTA+ worth keeping?

Frequently asked questions
Do I get free GTA+ with a GTA 6 pre-order?
Yes, if you buy a digital copy of either edition from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store before November 20, 2026. Physical copies do not include it, and it is limited to one redemption per platform account.
When can I claim the GTA+ month?
Right away. Rockstar says it is available to redeem immediately after you pre-order, not at launch. The month starts on the day you claim it.
How much does GTA+ cost after the free month?
$7.99 a month in the US, £6.99 in the UK and AU$11.95 in Australia on the PlayStation Store. It renews automatically until you cancel, and renewals you have already paid for are generally not refunded.
Does GTA+ do anything in GTA 6?
Not that Rockstar has announced. GTA+ is a GTA Online membership: monthly GTA$, member perks and access to a selection of older Rockstar games. GTA 6 launches as a single-player game.
I already have GTA+. Can I still claim the month?
Yes. Rockstar says the free month is added to your existing membership and your next billing date moves back by one month.
If I cancel my pre-order and order again, do I get a second month?
No. Rockstar says a player who refunds GTA 6 and pre-orders it again will not receive another free month.
