Sony revealed the two controllers on the PlayStation Blog on September 3. They are the first GTA 6 hardware from either console maker, and both come out the same day as the game.
Prices and dates
| Region | Price |
|---|---|
| US | $84.99 |
| UK | £74.99 |
| Eurozone | €84.99 |
| Japan | ¥12,480 (tax included) |
Both controllers release on November 19, 2026. Pre-orders began September 10 at 10:00 AM local time; PlayStation Direct in the US opened at 7:00 AM PT (10:00 AM ET), with free launch-day delivery on eligible pre-orders. Sony describes both as limited quantities.
Where each version is sold
Sony sells the white controller, which it pitches as Vice City at daybreak, at PlayStation Direct and participating retailers worldwide. The black nightlife version is sold “exclusively through direct.playstation.com where available” and through select retailers elsewhere; the country list is on our page on where to buy the GTA 6 DualSense.
The design
Both carry a shimmering, color-shifting finish that Sony says mixes the hues of a Vice City sunset with the glow of neon, plus palm-tree details molded into the shell. Engadget adds a gray VI on the touchpad, hot pink detailing on the buttons and an iridescent blue lower half. Sony lists no new features beyond the DualSense’s usual haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, so what you pay for is the look.
What else is official on PlayStation
The controllers fit Sony’s “Plays Best On PlayStation 5” co-marketing. The PlayStation Store listing carries a PS5 Pro Enhanced badge with no details; see GTA 6 on PS5 and GTA 6 on PS5 Pro. No console bundle has been announced by Sony or Microsoft; we track that on GTA 6 bundles.
What to do
Sony calls both versions limited, so if you want one, pre-order rather than wait for launch week. Any DualSense plays GTA 6 the same way, and the controller changes nothing about which edition to buy.
Controllers for GTA VI
Sony's Grand Theft Auto VI Limited Edition DualSense comes out with the game on November 19. For Xbox, the Elite Series 2 Core is Microsoft's pro controller.

What changed on this page
- Kept this post to the September 3 announcement and moved the country-by-country buying details to our controller page. Re-checked on September 26: still no GTA 6 console bundle.
- Corrected where the black controller is sold (PlayStation Direct where it operates, select retailers elsewhere), added UK, EU and Japan prices plus Sony's design description, and credited the touchpad and accent details to Engadget.
