Australians could buy the GTA 6 Collector’s Box for the first time on Monday, September 28, 2026, and it went fast. EB Games opened pre-orders at 11:00 AEST, which was 9:00 PM ET on Sunday, September 27, for The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection. When we read the listing later that day, it said “Presold Out”.
What EB Games sold
EB Games’ own listing gives the terms:
- Price: A$699.95, with a A$100 deposit to pre-order.
- Limit: “Strictly 1 per customer.”
- No game: “Grand Theft Auto VI game is NOT included.”
- Release: Thursday, November 19, 2026.
EB lists it under Rockstar’s own name for the box; on Rockstar’s US store it costs $399.99. The 11 items, in Rockstar’s own descriptions, are on our GTA 6 Collector’s Box page.
How fast it went
Press Start reported that the box “sold out almost instantly.” POPTOPIC says EB Games gave no sell-out time or unit count, and that buyers put it at 4 to 10 minutes (reported). EB has not announced a restock.
Press Start also reports that JB Hi-Fi will offer the box by ballot to its Perks members. That rests on Press Start alone: JB Hi-Fi’s site showed no listing and no ballot page on September 28, and no ballot dates are known.
What Rockstar has said
Nothing new. Rockstar’s Newswire post from September 24, re-read on September 28, still says pre-order details for Asia, Latin America and Australia are coming, and it names no retailer. Rockstar’s own store ships to 23 countries: the US, Canada, the UK and 20 in Europe. There is nothing yet for Asia or Latin America, and New Zealand is not mentioned.
In the US, the Rockstar Store was still taking pre-orders on September 28. Rockstar has published no weight for the box, and the “11 kg” figure going around has no source.
Before you buy a resold box
Within hours, POPTOPIC saw Australian resale listings asking A$990 to A$1,499 (reported; asking prices, not sales). Boxes ship from November 19, so anyone selling one now is selling a pre-order. Never pay by gift card, crypto or bank transfer, and read how to avoid GTA 6 scams first.
The box has no game in it. In Australia the game costs A$129.95 (Standard) or A$159.95 (Ultimate) on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store, and it unlocks at 13:00 UTC on November 18 on PS5, which is midnight on November 19 in Sydney and Melbourne. See GTA 6 release time. The Amazon links on this page are for the US store, and Amazon says its PS5 code only works on PlayStation accounts registered to the US or Canada.
The game is sold separately
The Collector's Box is not sold on Amazon: Rockstar sells it on its own store, and in Australia EB Games sold it. It has no game in it. Amazon sells the boxed Standard Edition, a download code with no disc; the PS5 code works only on US and Canadian PlayStation accounts.

Not from EB Games for now. Its listing read "Presold Out" on September 28, 2026, the day pre-orders opened, and EB has announced no restock.
